Nice!! It is way better than I remembered when I had the first bite at a Deerfield Beach location. We had a special BOGO coupon valid at this Boynton location. My husband was a bit hesitant to try them in the past, but when we had the BOGO coupon, it was big savings he could not refuse. Upon entering, the place was active with dining customers that seemed to really enjoy their meals. We walked up to the register and found there was no menu up there until an employee directed us to the back wall by the entrance to obtain the menus. The options were many and a lot of mixing and matching and building, too. We both got something with chicken. It cost extra to have certain items added on, like salsa, guacamole (of course), and the type of tortilla. We sat down at a table and waited but 5 minutes for a server to bring out our orders. My husband loved his lunch and my burrito was enormously delicious, too! The only thing we didn't quite care for was the guacamole. It had a bit too much tomatoes and onions in it. But I still finished it anyway. Their special verde salsa sauce is so good and I can see why it's extra after having tried a couple of their complimentary sauce at the condiments bar. Now if you're in the mood for a satisfying Mexican meal that is somewhere up there by Chipotle and Moe's- consider Tijuana Flats if you're in a hurry... Cos I know Chipotle is always PACKED. There is another new TF location that was built last year after this one. It is on the corner of Congress and Old Boynton Beach Blvd in the Snappers & TJMaxx plaza that is across the street from Carolina Ale House and Bed Bath & Beyond.

My fiance loves Tijuana Flats! He's a super picky eater and this is usually the place he likes to go to if he's ever conflicted about where to get food. He likes it for what is is, Tex Mex. I like Tijuana Flats too. For an Americanized taco chain, I think it's probably one of the best. They have a decent menu and the food I've tried were good. Everything is made to order which is perfect for my fiance. He likes his food very simple. I love the salsa bar! There are about a dozen or more choices and I'd be happy to try them all if I could. My fiance's family loves the nachos and cheese. We all love their tacos. But if I were given a choice between an authentic Mexican restaurant and Tijuana Flats, I'd probably pick authentic Mexican food over Tijuana Flats. I grew up in San Diego and I think authentic Mexican food is way more delicious, flavorful, and spicy. But honestly, it's probably not fair to compare Tijuana Flats with an authentic Mexican restaurant because they have totally different types of clientele: one who doesn't really like Mexican food (TF) and one who eats Mexican food. Just kidding ;) Overall, yes, I'd definitely be back over and over again to have a happy fiance and to satisfy my hunger at the same time. Tijuana Flats has good food, great service, and for a fair price. Everybody wins. The servers often come by to make sure drinks are filled and clear the tables.

The food is pretty good. I went on a Tuesday for the taco special. The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. From the moment I walked in I was attended. From the manager to the cashier.

The manager Philip is legit the coolest guy ever. He is super accommodating, knows his hot sauces, and he makes sure my order is correct every time. I appreciate that. One night, we strolled in five min before closing and he made us almost guilty for leaving without food. Said he didn't wanna throw all that food out and gave us two beers to boot. We ended up ordering a ridiculous amount of food cuz we were grabbing it for the roommates too....and there was not one problem. And ever item was perfection. Thanks guys!!

Great Mexican food place that always uses fresh ingredients. My go to order for T Flatts is the two taco meal with chicken and black beans. This meal is such a great deal. 2 tacos, chips and a drink. One thing that most people don't know is that you can get grilled fajita veggies on pretty much anything. They are just peppers and onions that are used for fajitas and I always get them on my tacos. Hot sauce bar is great and I love going hot and a little bit sweet. I like spicy sauces but then I usually mix in "smack my ass and call me sally" sauce. It is a great blend of the two flavors. Overall great place and I love them tacos.

I love this place! I wish we had one in Alabama. It was taco Tuesday and I got two steak tacos with chips and a drink for $5.49. There numerous kinds of salsas to put on the food and the service was quick.

First visit to this southern taco chain I can say my stuff was very good but I may need to do a little more research before I can formulate an educated opinion. Cheap eats were on the menu since a junior coworker selected this place. It was good food for around 5 bucks on Taco Tuesday. The place is quick the choices are excellent and the food was very good too. Lots of good staff very friendly and helpful. The food runners will refill your drink and bring more hot sauce. Seating in or out its all good. I would definitely return especially for their addictive tortilla chips.

As Mexican joints go, this place is a winner! They've got a large menu with a ton of options for meat eaters, vegetarians, and seafood eaters. When you enter, it seems like it should be a full service place, but it's not. It's a little confusing because it's not really clear where you should go. Go to the counter, place your order, go find a seat, and they'll deliver your order to you. There is no menu behind the counter, so be sure to pick up a menu right when you walk in the front door. The chips/salsa here are REALLY GOOD! They do not come with your meal, but be sure to order them on the side! YUM! The salsa bar -- oh boy! I love that they have the various salsas named based on their hotness, and they've got smiley faces depending on the hotness as well. We like the flavor of spice, but not how it feels on our palate, so we had 3 "pansy" salsas from which to choose. Two of them were more like a "sweet n sour" sauce you'd get at a Chinese restaurant, while 1 was like a mole' sauce and uber delish! Pricing is super reasonable, and despite the fact that the outdoor seating is adjacent to the parking lot, it's still a nice option if the weather isn't nasty hot. If you're in the mood for Mexican, swing by here and have a bite. Good stuff!

Um, this is probably the smallest salad I've ever ordered from a Mexican place. I felt super cheated. I got the Mahi Salad and it was definitely less 4 ounces of fish, I mean a measly 2.5 pieces of fish. I didn't eat the salad bowl because it was just this oil drenched, burnt tortilla that totally was not worth the calories it contained. If you are looking for a healthy option... this salad is not where it's at. There was maybe like 2 cups of lettuce and a few jalapenos; left me super hungry. I'd much prefer Chipotle or Moes.

I went to the Wellington location a few times. It seems to be pretty consistent at all location I have been to including Delray. So this is for all of them. This is a solid take out Mexican place. Very nice decor. They have a hot sauce bar with some top notch hot sauces with very good descriptions. Their selection of food is good. The quality of the food is also good. They claim not to have a freezer, or microwave or refrigerator (I am not sure about the refrigerator.) Personally I don't believe any of those claims. I mean, I would be satisfied with them saying their ingredients are delivered fresh each day. I dont need them to take it a step further because it is a bit of a stretch of the imagination that an inspected restaurant serving chicken, dairy, and ice cream does not have anything to keep these items from spoiling. On to the food. The taste of everything Ive tried has always been good. I havent had a bad meal. Except when I took out from Delray. Mexican is not something you want to transport so it could have just been the act of taking it out. Soggy, and almost unedible. I also think the meat was a bit saltier than the other places.

Are you freakin' kidding me. The dip. The chimi. The flautas. The service is phenomenal. The prices are great. The tile art is fun, the vibe is irreverent and fun. The sauce bar is inspiring. The service is confusing for a newbie. You pick up a menu, or one is handed to you. There is no menu board. Order at the counter, and they label every drink with a name. Food is brought out to your table, and it's all table service from then. Great concept restaurant.

Great fast food. The employees are very friendly. They have alcohol available. You can eat outside. Taco Tuesdays are a bit crowded but worth it. I would recommend this Mexican restaurant to anyone that is that hasn't had a chance to try it.

Great food, clean and service is a pleasure! The environment is funky and fun. Oh, and the ice (I know weird to mention) but it's the best lol makes the drink taste phenomenal! Food is always hot, fast service and reasonably priced. Must try!

Clean efficient. Friendly and customer Oriented! Food is fresh hot and as you specify! The hot sauce bar is always a highlight! Just know that you order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. Quality is just as good as the original store in Winter Park. FL Good beer selection and reasonable prices. There is outdoor seating with ambient music which is not too loud!

Wow! I absolutely loved this place from the minute we walked in. The atmosphere from the outside looks very commercialized but once you get inside is playful, down to earth aesthetic. They have their own hot sauce bar with a great selection of flavorful hot sauces. I had the "Banging Chicken Burrito" and it was in fact BANGING and Awesome! They put a unique spin on a traditional move and it was great.

Cannot compete with other local taco stands. Ordered fish and steak tacos. Mahi mahi was decent. Steak was way over seasoned... So salty. Nachos were half stale/half fresh.. The old stale ones had refried beans on them. Guessing from an old order transferred to mine cause I didn't order refried beans. They do have a nice selection of hot sauces.

My husband and I came here for Taco Tuesdaze. Each of us got 2 tacos, chips, and a drink for $4.99. I got the chicken tacos with sour cream and cheese on whole wheat tortillas. It was good with the not overly salty chips. There was a bunch of people that were going in and out while we were there taking advantage of the special as well as enjoying Mexican food that isn't overloaded with grease and lots of calories. If you prefer it that way, there's always Taco Bell.

Food was very good, fresh, and flavorful. Place was a combo of fast food and sit down. The service and attention by the entire staff was outstanding. I can't remember the last time the staff was so engaged and went way beyond making us feel special. Im going back just for the pampering service.

I like Tijuana Flats. They offer some slightly healthier options for their burritos without sacrificing too much flavor... and of course, there's the hot sauce bar, which for me is the biggest draw here. Here's the deal: you won't be completely blown away by the food and if you come here expecting truly authentic Mexican, you will be disappointed. But the food IS solid, and this place gets some extra points for offering the fun experience of letting you experiment with all kinds of different hot sauces to your heart's content. It's just fun, people! And that's ok. This particular location is fairly new, clean and has a friendly staff. Great addition to Boynton!

Stopped in for their Tax Day special $2 tacos and $2 Coronas. The setup is pretty cool.. .you walk up, place your order and the food is brought to your seat by an enthusiastic server who definitely adds to the charm of the place. The cool part of the store are the frequently changing sauces that can be added to bring a bit of "kick" to one's meal. They intensify in heat index as you progress right on the bar and are creatively named! I'd be back to try it again sometime soon. The blackened chicken was delicious as was the regular chicken tacos.

For a burrito company I feel their burritos are lacking and not very special. Nothing like Moes or Chipotle. But their chicken tacos are great. And their chips and quest are outstanding. They put special ingredients on the chips to make them extra awesome. And they always give extra chips for free! The employees are great and are eager to help with anything you need and to answer any questions you have.

How can you not enjoy Tijuana Flats? The great, legendary Taco Tuesday (2 Tacos anyway you want them, chips and a drink for $5), the hot sauce bar, the music and the environment. This has been one of my favorite taco spots since college. This location fits right into the rest of the TFlats that I've visited. Nothing at all to complain about here.

Food is always good but the service at this particular location is phenomenal. They must have asked 5 times if we were enjoying our food and whether we needed a drink refill or anything else. Always great to experience this level of service especially at a laid back spot.

Love this new little local joint! Who cares that its a chain, we needed a place in the Sunshine Plaza which is chill, a good vibe, good food, great specials and nice beer selection! It is super funky inside, I love all the painting on the walls etc. They also do take out which is a handy option too, I noticed several locals picking up orders which is great. My roomie and I went on a Tuesday and got the taco special. I think it was $4.99 for 2 tacos, chips and drink. I added side of salsa and a corona and it came to about $10 - not bad at all! They have different specials every night and so we will definitely be back more! I got the soft chicken tacos and they hit the spot. My roomie got the hard shell with steak and hers were yummy too. They were playing classic 90's tunes which was perfect. We sat inside, outside looked pretty full, but I love the option. The hot sauce bar was a great added novelty. Loved trying different tastes and heats - not fogetting to mention the hilarious names!

I love Tijuana Flats and have been to multiple locations but this one by far is my favorite. Since it opened I have gone here almost once a week and never experienced a bad visit. You can tell they must have great management because the employees are always friendly, helpful, look like they really enjoy their job and it's always the same faces which is nice. Taco Tuesday is usually very busy but worth the tiny wait. Who can beat 2 tacos, chips and a drink for $4.99... awesome deal! Hot sauce bar.... love love love the variety.. so fun to try them all. I have to have the queso every time I go... super delish. It's nice to go to a somewhat fast food restaurant but get exceptional service and they continuously make sure your drink is full and you don't need anything. I'm a fan!

Taco Tuesday! The hot sauce bar is amazing. I am hot suave enthusiast. I have tried there burritos which are delicious. Whenever I go on a Tuesday get 2 tacos one with blackened chicken and one with steak with black beans and queso on the side for the chips. It's delicious can't complain and its made to order.

Funky decor, casual, laidback vibe. VERY good food, nice choice of beer, GREAT selection of hot sauces. This place reminds me of a Lower East Side hang out in NYC, back in the day when there were still squatters and NYU students just wanted a decent bite to eat without the outrageous price. Fun, fast, friendly. EXACTLY what I look for in a place like this.

AMAZING! Me and my girlfriend go there all the time for our little "date evening" and it's good every week we go ! I couldn't be more happier ever time I am greeted by this nice lady at the front counter. ( don't remember her name). Keep it up Tijauana Flats, you're doing an amazing job !

Not good. Granted, I was there two weeks after the restaurant opened - they probably need to go through their first round of associates and managers before they full get up and running. Might be better in a few months, but I doubt I'll go back. Moe's food is simply higher quality, and you can see them preparing it.

  • Thomas S.

Nice atmosphere, but the food is a bit high priced for what you get. I ordered the Steak Chimichangas and sides. Lots of toppings and choices on the meal and that was nice. Two minuses though: Onions--just white onions and there were a ton of them on there I'd like too see less or at least purple onion for a bit of a different flavor. Two: Not alot of meat in the huge tortilla. Felt like I was eating fried tortilla. The sides were a big disappointment. The sides literally came in those little cups you use for ketchup at other restaurants. I was shocked when I opened the bag and saw these two little cups. The refried beans were just OK and the "Mexican" rice is yellow rice with cumin dumped all over it for authentic flavoring not a pleasant taste. Finally, the servers try really hard to make it a good experience. Just hopefully alot of confusion with the opening. Three servers and a manager all told me my order was "coming out in a second," Over the course of eight minutes. Bottom line: Good quality food for fast food. Overpriced for sit down meal. Still getting on their legs so I plan to try again soon and see if I need to change my review.

Customer service is exceptional! I went in for lunch and discovered that they no longer carried Mello Yello. I made a half hearted whine at the register about how much I loved getting one when I come there and that I am conditioned to want it. Just teasing the employees really. I sat down to eat and the GM Joey brought me a bottled Mountain Dew (that he ran out and grabbed for me) and a cup of ice. I was shocked! People just don't provide that level of customer service anymore. Also, the food is delicious!!

  • Hugo B.

How can you beat, Taco Tuesday (2 tacos, chips and a drink for $4.99 all day, every Tuesday)! The food tastes good and the service is fast. On top of that, you have over a dozen hot sauces to experiment with (yes, some of them are that hot!) and even the option of whole wheat tortillas. And don't sweat it, if Tuesday just passed. They also have Burrito Thursdays (1 oversize burrito, chips and a drink for $5.99). Best value in town (at least on a Tuesday or Thursday)!

Omg. I just can't. My favorite place in the freaking world. I would bathe in their queso if it were economically possible. They love my kid and I love them. Here almost every week. I'm starting to think my 2 year old's temporary tijuana flats tattoo is real since I'm reapplying it so frequently. The best. Been eating at t flats since my ucf college days.

Lady in front of us found a hair in her food. Took an hour for my food to come and when I got it it wasn't what I ordered and everyone was done with their meal. Manager didnt even offer to fix it. DON'T GO HERE. TERRIBLE SERICE AND RUDE STAFF!

Where's the beef should be their slogan. I almost returned my to go order until I found the 3 pieces of beef in my food. All rice and beans no meat. Rice tastes so artificially flavored. This is not Mexican food. If you are a vegetarian this may be the place for you. If you are craving Mexican food and want protein look elsewhere. Way overpriced for what you get.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
